The Veteran in my life is my dad. He was in the Marines. He has been in the VA clinic since August. He now only has one good leg. He lost from the knee down due to his blood flow. He does a lot for me and raised me and my sister best he could. I don't know what I do without him. The photo I have is of my gramps too he just passed last month of Alzheimer s. He's in the middle then dad at the end. My gramps was a veteran too. Both are my heroes.

The veteran in my life is my uncle Dwayne Seabolt. He served in the United States Army for multiple years and has made many sacrifices for his country. He is suffering from PTSD after carrying his friends dead body off the field and lives with the memories everyday. He is such a kind, selfless, caring man and he deserves the world. He would give anyone the shirt off of his back if he needed to. Our veterans deserve nothing but the best, especially this man. I know life has been rough for him lately, and I wish there was something I could do to help. Even a Panera gift card would mean the world to him. He truly does deserve it.

My husband served twice in overseas, Iraq and Afghanistan. He's a great father to our 2yr old daughter and a hardworking husband that works his butt off to keep the roof over our heads. He suffers from photolight senitivity, anxiety, and PTSD. I think he deserved to be nominated because he served his country for 4 years in the marine corps, protected his country. Also, is a great father and husband.

my husband, Michael Dixon served as a specialist in the US Army from 2003-2006. He was injured in Iraq and is now retired due to PTSD and a Traumatic Brain Injury. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his injuries. Although unable to work, he continues to give back to other veterans as a member of a local nonprofit in Ashtabula county, dedicated to assisting veterans in need. He is also supportive of several veteran organizations. Along with providing assistance to local veterans, he has riding in several honor escorts, escorting fallen veterans to their final resting places. He served his country honorably and now has devoted his life to serving others who have served. He is the love of my life and my inspiration.

My veteran is my little brother Robert Johnson. He sacrifices so much being away from his family, wife, and kids. He always protected me growing up and now he protects his country. I only had 250 words to describe him. There isn't enough time or enough words to explain my veteran. To me he is my little brother,a father, a protector, a leader, and an amazing citizen of this great country. I miss him dearly and I am so very proud of the man he is.

My husband proudly served his country from 1962-1964. He passed away suddenly in 1987 after a very short life leaving an 11 year old son and a 22 year son and a wife of 26 years. We all still miss this wonderful man who never got to see his granddaughter Anna and his grandson Andrew who have grown into 2 great young people now in college.

My father Charles Thompson, fought in Korea. After all of these years, he's cared for our family and has never asked anything in return. It would be great to give him a gift card where he could go to Panera and enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee!

Gray J. Grubbs was my husband for 53-1/2 years until he went to Heaven to live with Jesus on February 7, 2011. Gray (Sonny was his nickname) served our great country in the U.S. Army for the period of 1954-1956. He was stationed in several places and also overseas in Germany. After being honorably discharged he farmed on his family farm for many years. He was a good businessman, great father and husband and provider for his family. While Gray didn't have to serve in wartime, he honorably represented the United States of America.

My husband, Jake is veteran and has served in both Iraq and Kuwait. He loves his country and his family. After spending almost 12 years in the Air Force he returned to the civilian life and found the adjustment more difficult than he expected. He has worked very hard to educate himself and find a new path for his future.

My fiancé, Richard is one of the hardest workers I know. He has worked two jobs to keep a roof over our heads, clothes on our back and food on the table. He is a wonderful father of two beautiful 3 year old boys. Richard has made so many sacrifices for our family and his decision to go to the Army was the biggest one yet! Last year he left for the Army at only 19 years old. He was so proud! Going to the Army was a dream he had as a young boy. Richard has made me so proud to be called his fiancé. He has achieved each and every goal he has ever set his mind to. He is smart, determined, strong, supportive, just a great man all together! No matter what obstacles may get in his way he continues to strive for greatness.
